TIP!! You have a higher probability of obtaining a green card if your application is processed faster. In some cities in the U.S., the USCIS is having difficulty processing applications in a timely manner. Therefore, contact an immigration attorney and see if your local USCIS office has an expedite program for lottery winners. If not, you may want to file for an immigrant visa overseas since the U.S. Consulate may process the application faster than the local USCIS office. Of course, you can only do this if you can leave the U.S. for a few months without triggering any bars from returning.
TIP!! Attending the immigrant visa interview with an incomplete application can at best delay the process. The reason for such strict compliance is because of a high incidence of document fraud in some countries. Therefore, be ready to provide original required documents (or certified copies) during your interview.
